This sake is a collaboration between the popular anime “Chibi Maruko-chan” and Shizuoka’s oldest sake brewery, Hatsu Kame. The theme of this year’s design is “good fortune.” Inspired by “otoso,” which is traditionally consumed during the New Year to ward off evil spirits and wish for longevity, the design features Hiroshi peeking out from a tokkuri. The design also includes the customary “Mount Fuji,” “first sunrise of the year,” and the turtle designed by creator Momoko Sakura, all symbolizing good luck. Made with careful craftsmanship, this sake is brewed using “Yamada Nishiki,” known as the “king of sake rice,” which is polished to perfection. It offers a fragrance reminiscent of tropical fruits and a rich sweetness that spreads in the mouth. This product is associated with Shizuoka and will be sold in 223 (Fuji-san) bottles, each containing a serial number as part of an exclusive limited production.
